Jogged the mile or so down to the 5K "run for the aspirin" downtown, then back. Nice relaxing run.

Jog on the fieldhouse track.  Tried running fast and was able to reach a 5:20 pace for about a quarter mile, fast for me as I was thinking 6 min. per mile might be my fastest. I'll try to do a little speed work over the winter so maybe that'll improve my speed at an easy pace on the longer runs.

Nice easy jog on neighborhood country roads--out Turtle Creek and back. Avg. about 10 per mile.

I've heard that anything below a 10:00 pace is a "run" and not a "jog" so you really can't call yourself Jogger Jim. :-) Happy Running!

I guess the jogging part was on the out leg, 4 miles from the house to the trail, which is a little over 2 miles long. It usually takes me some jogging to warm up to a run.

In a recent ultra-marathon relay we called ourselves the Daft Old Geezers (DOGs for short) and played "Who let the Dogs out" etc on our car system during the race. Maybe I should just rename myself Old Dog.

I'm impressed that you rope. I can ride a tame trail horse but that's about it.

1 mile to pick up point, then the Tussey Teaser #01. Supposed to be 10 K, but seems a little shorter. Beautiful route, state forest road alongside rhodedendron lined creek, snow, etc.  24 minutes out, just under 22 minutes back.  45:57 total

8:50 pace.  Beautiful day. Ran mid morning on the Walnut Hollow route, in Kinvara Trails.  The shoes are beginning to break in and are more comfortable to run in. I tried to run off the asphalt on the road side for the most part. They grip good but are a little narrow for me.

5 miles after a 6 mile hike out Weikert way, beautiful weather.  Unfortunately had a hole in my sock on the heal and got a blister before I realized it.

Been swimming a little to keep the blood circulating while my hip and heel heal.

5 miles at 41:52, so just under 8:30 pace. Very windy. Blister is healing up well and I can run with a simple band aid on it.

Tussey Whipple 11 miler was today and I wanted to get out there with the family but church obligations kept us in town this morning....

 I'm feeling more positive about upping the mileage in the next few months.  Last few months have been tough...mostly painful ligaments in the hip joint, on the front side. Worse on the left. I noticed my left leg was weaker than my right, so I've been doing a few stretching and strength exercises before bed. Seems to be helping somewhat.

52 minute run nice and easy, trying to get back onto it after a series of injuries, most unrelated to running.  Ran nice 2 ~ 3 mile trail runs at New York's Letchworth State Park last weekend, and recovery went well.  I've been walking and then jogging barefoot on our local school's well-maintained athletic field, about 25 minutes most days, and I think that has strengthened and stretched my plantar fascia...

9 min. avg. pace on the 5 miles.  Started out slow and ended at about 8:20 pace. Not strained at all, so that's encouraging.  Yesterday I walked barefoot in the fields for 20+ minutes which really helps massage and strengthen my foot muscles, I'm convinced.

Tussey Mountainback ultra relay.  First two legs were down hill, but I bonked on the last leg which had lots of ups and downs and one very steep hill for about a mile. Just not enough energy in the tank...
