| | Jogged the mile or so down to the 5K "run for the aspirin" downtown, then back. Nice relaxing run. |
| | Jog on the fieldhouse track. Tried running fast and was able to reach a 5:20 pace for about a quarter mile, fast for me as I was thinking 6 min. per mile might be my fastest. I'll try to do a little speed work over the winter so maybe that'll improve my speed at an easy pace on the longer runs. |
| | Nice easy jog on neighborhood country roads--out Turtle Creek and back. Avg. about 10 per mile. |
| | Jog around the neighborhoods, just over 8:30 pace. |
| | Usual 5 mile Walnut Hollow loop. avg. about 8:15 pm. |
| | Easy Pheasant Ridge/James Road loop. Avg 8:45 pace. |
| | Walnut Hollow loop, nice and slow. |
| | Slow jog out to Dale's Ridge trail. Very icy and slow going, but nice running through the mist. 1:42:50 total for avg of 9:30 pace. | |
| | Pheasant Ridge loop with James Road detour, avg. 8:45 pace. Nice unseasonably warm weather and sunny, in the mid 40s. |
| | 9:20 pace. I'm feeling my age. |
| | Easy 5 miles in the cold. just under 10 minute pace. Feeling it in the hips. |
| | 1 mile to pick up point, then the Tussey Teaser #01. Supposed to be 10 K, but seems a little shorter. Beautiful route, state forest road alongside rhodedendron lined creek, snow, etc. 24 minutes out, just under 22 minutes back. 45:57 total |
| | Hips were bothering me and the weather was atrocious, so I swam a few days last week. |
| | 9:30 pace average. Usual Walnut Hollow loop. |
| | 9:20 pace. No wind and cloudy, so comfortable running in the low 30s. I'm over my long bout with flu-like symptoms and hips feel ok. Feeling my years. |
| | 8:50 pace. Beautiful day. Ran mid morning on the Walnut Hollow route, in Kinvara Trails. The shoes are beginning to break in and are more comfortable to run in. I tried to run off the asphalt on the road side for the most part. They grip good but are a little narrow for me. |
| | Felt good today. New Saucony Kinvara 3. Feels fine. avg. 8:30 pace. 42:29 for the 5. |
| | 5 miles after a 6 mile hike out Weikert way, beautiful weather. Unfortunately had a hole in my sock on the heal and got a blister before I realized it. |
| |
5 miles 44:45 minutes. just under 9 per mile. Been swimming a little to keep the blood circulating while my hip and heel heal. |
| | 5 miles at 41:52, so just under 8:30 pace. Very windy. Blister is healing up well and I can run with a simple band aid on it. Tussey Whipple 11 miler was today and I wanted to get out there with the family but church obligations kept us in town this morning.... I'm feeling more positive about upping the mileage in the next few months. Last few months have been tough...mostly painful ligaments in the hip joint, on the front side. Worse on the left. I noticed my left leg was weaker than my right, so I've been doing a few stretching and strength exercises before bed. Seems to be helping somewhat. |
| | Just under 5 miles at 8 minute pace. |
| | 4 miles of trail running, two loops of the Dale-Walker trail. 44 minutes. Faster the second time around by 3 minutes. |
| | Walnut Hollow loop. Just at 8:20 avg. Windy and rainy, but warm enough it felt good. |
| | Just under 9 minute avg. pace on Walnut Hollow loop. |
| | 8:30 avg. pace. Hips felt a little better due to the rest. I've been swimming so my wind is pretty good still. |
| | Another 5 on Walnut Hollow loop, slower today. Started out real slow and sped up at end, with avg. about 9:10 per mile. |
| | Walnut Hollow loop. Just over 9 minute avg. pace. |
| | 8:40 avg pace. Planter fasciitis-type pain for the past few days. |
| | Trail jogging along the Genesee River near the campground. |
| | 2 mile trail run along the Genesee River. |
| | 52 minute run nice and easy, trying to get back onto it after a series of injuries, most unrelated to running. Ran nice 2 ~ 3 mile trail runs at New York's Letchworth State Park last weekend, and recovery went well. I've been walking and then jogging barefoot on our local school's well-maintained athletic field, about 25 minutes most days, and I think that has strengthened and stretched my plantar fascia... |
| | 9 min. avg. pace on the 5 miles. Started out slow and ended at about 8:20 pace. Not strained at all, so that's encouraging. Yesterday I walked barefoot in the fields for 20+ minutes which really helps massage and strengthen my foot muscles, I'm convinced. |
| | hot day, ran 2.5 with my daughter, then another 2.5. pace between 9 and 10 minutes. |
| | Biked out to Dale's Ridge, ran two loops, biked back with Margaret. Total 8 miles biking, 4 miles trail running. Good workout. |
| | 8 miles biking, 4 of trail running. |
| | Ran the second half of the Halfway Dam Half trail marathon. Felt good, but I fell twice on the section I always fall on. No major injury...it took 1 hr. 37 min.
|
| | 8 miles biking, 2 miles trail running at Dale's Ridge.
|
| | 8 miles bike, 2 trail run
|
| | 9 min/mile avg. pace out to Ard's and back
|
| | Morning: 4.4 miles at 40 minutes up and down Smoketown hill.
Afternoon: 7 miles at 68 minutes. Good hills.
I'm trying to get used to multiple running for next month's ultra relay.
|
| | Went out for a long run late morning and over lunch hour. Ended up out for 1hr. 30 min. or so
|
| | Morning run just over 5 miles, afternoon run of 6.7 miles. Avg. about 10 minute pace each.
|
| | Slightly over 9 minute pace. Felt good. Just a little spring in my stride if I wanted it.
|
| | 5 in the morning at about 9:45 pace, 5 in the afternoon at about 8:45 pace avg.
|
| | Tussey Mountainback ultra relay. First two legs were down hill, but I bonked on the last leg which had lots of ups and downs and one very steep hill for about a mile. Just not enough energy in the tank...
|
| | usual course, a little faster than normal, about 8:20 avg.
